| Activity Engine
e1Tech Activity Engine is the
foundation of the e1Tech BAM solution. The engine monitors business
events-such as new orders, customer service calls, inventory
replenishing, etc.-and integrates those events with contextual data
from data warehouses or operational systems in real time. The engine
combines the information into dynamic business views that
automatically update as events happen.
Unique, Time-series Processing The
models built on top of these views can include both current
information as well as temporal, or time-series, based collections
of data that allow you to spot real trends over time, not just
momentary spikes in activity.
And, because Activity Engine operates in real time, it
continuously integrates and aggregates new business events as they
occur, immediately updating data models and applying business rules
to the new information.
Alerts with Comprehensive Metrics
When Activity Engine finds an exception to a business rule, it
sends an alert to pre-specified personnel. Alerts can be simple
messages indicating that an event occurred. Or, they can be quite
detailed, including 'reportlets' with historical comparison data or
information from related operational systems that put the event into
context.
The information in a reportlet can also help a recipient take
action. For example, an alert notifying a manufacturing manager
about a quality problem in a production cycle might include a list
of other suppliers that can provide the needed parts.
e1Tech Activity Engine can send alerts to the
e1Tech Operational
Dashboard, email, portals or other devices such as a pager or
cell phone. Alerts can also be sent to applications, integrating
e1Tech's solution with business process management (BPM) and
other workflow solutions. This enables events captured by Activity
Engine to automatically trigger action to resolve exception
conditions or business problems. For example, alerts can be
configured to place a supply order if inventory levels run too low
for a pre-determined period of time, or stop shipment of a product
if online fraud has been detected.
